Walsh Issues Statement Regarding Recent Threats

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Jamie Walsh (R-Luzerne) issued the following statement regarding a recent threatening email sent to his district office:

“I want to extend my deepest gratitude to law enforcement for their swift response and continued efforts to ensure the safety of me, my family and my legislative staff.

“Threats and intimidation have no place in our democracy. No public servant, family member or staff member should have to fear for their safety for serving their community. Political disagreements are to be expected but must never escalate into threats of violence or attempts to intimidate those who serve the public.

“I am grateful to the law enforcement professionals who take these threats seriously and work diligently to protect those at risk. I will continue to stand firmly against political violence and intimidation and remain committed to carrying out my duties as a state representative.”
